Open Water scuba certification is the basic entry level diver training. With this certification, divers can acquire equipment from virtually any dive operator in the world. There are three phases of learning.  Knowledge Development comes first to learn the basic principles of scuba diving.  Students read the Open Water Diver textbook (included in the course fee), watch the Open Water Diver DVD, and take some simple exams. Water  instruction follows with Confined Water Training usually at a swimming pool. Note that the pool may be family owned such as a backyard swimming pool, provided it has proper depth and meets certain other confined water standards. This is followed by a series of Open Water Dives usually at a local scuba park or lake. This is the ultimate course for scuba instruction. It provides small group training with the instructor and is ideal for the couple or family that wants scuba certification. Note that the minimum age for scuba certification is 10 years old. For divers that are certified divers  but haven't been diving for a while, our Scuba Review Refresher Course is a great way to review both knowledge and water skills in a swimming pool environment. Best of all, first-hand access with an Instructor or Divemaster is provided to answer questions and help hone diving skills. A scuba kit (tank, BCD, regulators, dive computer, and weights are provided) or divers can use their own gear. Divers are encouraged to review their Open Water Diver Manual or watch the Open Water Diver DVD.

Five introductory specialties including Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation are taught during this advanced course. After completion of the required chapters in the Advanced Open Water Diver Manual (textbook is provided), the training dives are taught over a two consecutive day period  (maximum three dives per day) at an open water location such as a lake or scuba park.   A scuba kit (tank, BCD, regulators, weights) can be provided at no additional cost. The fee also includes all certification card costs and related teaching materials. Scuba park fees (if any) are not included and must be paid by the student directly to the dive  facility. The prerequisite is Open Water Diver certification.

Knowing how to deal with diving emergencies is the focus of this course. It is comprised of a combination of open water and classroom training sessions.  If needed, the course can include the use of a scuba kit (tank, BCD, regulators, weights). The fee also includes all certification card costs, textbook, and related teaching materials. Scuba park fees (if any) are not included and are paid by the student directly to the dive  facility. The loan of a Rescue Diver DVD is provided and they are also available for additional purchase. Loaned videos must be returned prior to the start of water activities. The prerequisite is Open Water and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.
